Paper sizes vary.

 

The two measuring standards most commonly used are

 
  • “A” sizes, and
  • North American sizes.

“A” sizes
 

Here are the “A” paper sizes:

Here are some things to remember about “A” paper sizes:

 
  • A4 is half the size of A3
  • A5 is half the size of A4
  • A6 is half the size of A5
  • All of the “A” sizes have the same ratio of length to width.
 
Tip:

These consistent proportions make it easy to enlarge or reduce illustrations and text without distorting them. Pages will still look the same whether they are large or small.
