What is morphemic writing?

Morphemic writing is a system of writing that maintains a single written form for morphemes, without regard to the underlying allomorphs.

Morphemic writing is similar to ideographic writing, but may represent the phonemes within the morpheme.

Morphemic writing is a system of writing in which words and functors are spelled in some constant manner, rather than how they sound.

Here is an example of morphemic writing:

• The English word kissed would be spelled 'kist'.
