Description
 

A typical lesson in a Laubach Literacy International instructional program includes the introduction of new phonic sounds, practice drilling the phonic sound, practice reading the story and writing the new sounds.

Here are the typical parts of a Laubach lesson:

 
  • Language experience activity (optional)
  • Introduction and review of new letter from a keyword and key picture
  • Review of keyword and new words in a story
  • Story read by learners with help from a tutor as needed
  • Questions about the story
  • Other activities for teaching reading and writing as appropriate
  • Review of letters from previous lessons.
  • New letters and words written to reinforce reading, letter formation, and spelling
  • Creative writing
